Recent calamities struck Philippines. An effect of global warming? Yes can be true.
Global warming is not caused by deforestation alone as many people pointed out. When I have the opportunity to personally chitchat with Henry Tacio, well-known science journalist, I got the idea that the root cause population growth. If we indeed do a problem tree, it boils down to population. Too many people means a smaller piece of resources for every person. Therefore, it contributed to high incidence of poverty, lack of education, poor nutrition, etc.
Many interventions were made to reduce population growth. Yet, the government and church are still at war what are the best methods. Well, our mother earth did its own way of controlling the population. Its own method of population reduction. It is just sad to note that many people died because of too many people crowed even into swampy areas. Where would they go anyway? Most of them say "eh wala naman kaming mapuntahan pa. Kaya dito nalang kami." and often blames the government that they were poor yet too many children in their own family. What can we do now?
Let's have a better way of reducing a population growth and lets start it now. :-)
Lets do plant trees.
Lets use biofuel.
Unplug! your unused equipment.
Promote Natural / organic farming!
